Phillippe Sands: Is Professor of Law and Director of the Centre on International Courts and Tribunals at UCL specialist. He is a founder member of Matrix Chambers, his legal interest has covered environmental law, human rights and international law, and he has been involved in many high profile cases at the international court, including defending the interests of the British Detainees at Guantanamo Bay, and the efforts to extradite the former Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet to Spain.
Brian Crowe: Has over 30 years experience working in the FCO and is the former Director General of Politico-Military Affairs for the EU Council of Ministers.
Shirin Homawala: Currently Account Executive for the London Communications Agency, a specialist consultancy focusing on London issues including regeneration, policing, and economic development. Previous experience includes assistant to Lord Tope (Leader of the Lib Dem group on the GLA, member of the Metropolitan Police Authority) including working on equalities and social justice, policing and community safety; working in legal practice specialising in immigration; working as Parliamentary Assistant to Nick Clegg in the European Parliament. Graduate of King’s College International Peace and Security master’s programme. Member of the 2006/7 Crime Working Group.
Turin Munthe: Currently advising the Liberal Democrat Home Affairs Team on the radicalisation of British youth and Muslim communities including work on issues of community relations and engagement and relationships with the police force. Former Head of the Middle East and North Africa at Royal United Services Institute.
Rory Domm: Currently an advisor to Dept for International Development; member of Liberal Democrat International Law and International Development policy papers; former Political Advisor to Office of the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovnia; worked for Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe; former Assistant to the Clerk of the HoC European Scrutiny Committee.
Thomas Papworth: Currently Policy and Research Manager for National Childminding Association. Experience working for the International Institute for Strategic Studies; the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute; and the Governance Resource Centre (University of Birmingham).
